About
I am a web developer
I have been creating websites and build web applications using PHP and JavaScript since 2002. I have been involved in over 200 web development projects, both independently and as part of a team. I strive to create clean, uncluttered websites, which maximize the usability and user experience. I make every effort to build sites that adhere to web standards for accessibility, form and function. I believe in developing attractive, useful websites. I love producing clean, semantic HTML and always separate style from content using Cascading Style Sheets. I strive toward simple, yet attractive designs, and I shun WYSIWYG editors in favor of hand-coding. The end result: tidier, more readable code and a leaner, more manageable final product.
The tools I use
I’m most comfortable coding in PHP. I’ve built countless web sites and applications from scratch using PHP. During the past 3 years, I’ve been building WordPress themes, and have grown intimately comfortable with jQuery, a fast, lightweight Javascript library that has completely revolutionized the way I look at client-side coding. As I mentioned, I am not a fan of WYSIWYG editors and code all my XHTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript by hand, and I do it all in TextMate.
Can I help you?
Whether you have an existing website you’d like retooled or are starting from square one, I can help get you on the right track. Take a look at some of my previous projects and give me a shout if you are ready to get started or just have a question.
