A group of concerned citizens has united in the effort to prevent construction of a proposed biomass-burning power plant in Pownal, Vermont, a small, rural town bordering the northwest corner of Massachusetts. They contacted me about building a website to present their argument, and had asked if the site could be built within a week. Ordinarily, this would be a rather tall order; however, I was granted the freedom to design at will, with just a few minor requirements. Thus, I was able to produce the site in a record five days, from conception to launch.
This site uses WordPress to manage the content, and I made use of some of the newer HTML5 elements, CSS3 and just a touch of elegance-by-javascript. The site was very well received by the coalition members. And while it lacks many of the fancy features other sites can boast, it does exactly what the clients asked for and it should serve their intended audience well.
